Mattel Creations drop day: a legit checklist

First: which kind of drop is it?

• Capped drop (most RLC exclusives): a fixed quantity with a purchase limit, first come, first served. Timing matters.
• Made-to-order window (sELECTIONs): orders are taken for days or weeks with no race. Any in-window order is produced.

The product page says which one it is. Read the terms at the bottom of the listing.

Before drop day

• Make sure your Mattel Creations account works and, for RLC drops, that your membership is active. Memberships last a year from purchase.
• Read the listing: price, purchase limit, eligibility, and the date, time and time zone.
• Convert the time. Mattel states the 2026 Porsche 959 window in Pacific Time, and recent listings have gone live at 9:00am PT (12:00pm ET). Carded's drop pages show the time in your own zone.
• Set your shipping address in your account ahead of time so checkout is quick.

At drop time

• A car in your cart is not an order. Mattel says cart items aren't guaranteed until checkout is complete and you receive an order number.
• Purchase limits are enforced and can change at Mattel's discretion. Overdrive purchases count toward your limit.
• If checkout fails, check your email and order history before trying again, so you don't order twice.

If it sells out

Don't panic-buy the same day. Early resale asks reflect the scramble. Watch sold prices for a few weeks, and check the listing again: some drops come back or stay orderable. The 2026 RLC Audi quattro S1 was still available on backorder two months after release.

Carded doesn't cover bots, multiple accounts or anything that gets around purchase limits. Those practices are why drops sell out for everyone else.
